Babysitter accused in infant’s death gets trial date after 6 years

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A babysitter charged with manslaughter for the death of an infant nearly 6 years ago will finally go to trial.
A Circuit Court judge has ordered Dixie Villa to stand trial the week of Nov. 4.
She’s accused of giving 7-month-old Abigail Lobisch a fatal dose of Benadryl in 2019 at the Aliamanu Military Reservation.
Villa has been out on bail after posting a $200,000 bond.
The trial has been delayed at least 13 times for reasons including COVID closures, unavailable witnesses, and defense requests.
